Klinik Ibu Susuan UTM was established in November 2017 and is managed by ZMR (Zilal Motherhood Resources). This lactation support center is located in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) green campus at Johor, Malaysia.
It specializes in lactation related research, development and commercialization of breastfeeding training, consultancy, products and technological solutions to issues pertaining breastfeeding.
Klinik Ibu Susuan UTM was initiated by a group of researchers at Centre of Research for Fiqh, Science and Technology (CFiRST) UTM.
CFiRST is a research center set up in UTM to conduct research and development in Islamic science and technology. It also acts as a reference center in solving a wide range of social problems. Since 2010, CFiRST has conducted a research grant and supervised postgraduate candidates on breastfeeding adopted babies. CFIRST is also active in continuing research and consultation on breastfeeding issues by combining Fiqh, Science, Medicine and Law approaches.
CFIRST has collaborated with government agencies such as National Lactation Center (NLC) and Lembaga Penduduk dan Pembangunan Keluarga Negara (LPPKN), as well as community and support groups such as Breastfeeding Counselor Networking Program (BCNP) and Kelab Sokongan Penyusuan Susu Ibu Johor Bharu (KSPSIJB) in organizing seminars, courses and breastfeeding related workshops. Klinik Ibu Susuan UTM has also been receiving good support by corporate companies. Among them are Pump On The Go, Youha, M&B Medical Marketing, Salam Healthcare Supplies, Bondahaven, Rina Salleh Clothing, and Cozy Lady.
